Merit-Based Aid

All applicants to the M.A. in Educational Transformation, regardless of concentration, are considered for merit-based scholarships funded by donations from alumni and outside supporters. We aim to award merit-based aid to 30-40% of the entering class, distributed on the basis of exceptional ability and talent based on information presented during the admissions process – no additional application necessary. A limited number of admitted applicants who do not receive a scholarship may be placed on a waitlist for merit-based aid.

Project ELEECT Funding (Learning & Teaching concentration)

The English Learners’ Educational Excellence Capitol Teacher Training Project, or Project ELEECT, is a program under Georgetown University’s Program in Educational Transformation funded by a five-year National Professional Development (NPD) grant from the U.S. Department of Education. Project ELEECT supports the preparation and professional development of teachers in the District of Columbia by widening the pipeline of teachers for multilingual DC students and preparing in-service teachers to meet the needs of their multilingual learners through equitable, culturally responsive pedagogy.

Applicants to the Learning & Teaching concentration are automatically considered for Project ELEECT funding, and may receive an estimated $20,000 (10 credits) worth of tuition aid on top of any merit aid scholarships they may be already awarded.

The Office of Student Financial Services has information about need-based financial aid on their website, including important information about eligibility and deadlines for federal student aid. Applicants to the M.A. in Educational Transformation should also plan to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) .
